Our Beliefs

What We Believe

We believe the Bible to be the Divinely inspired Word of God, in which God fully reveals His message for mankind. The Bible is our infallible guide for salvation and for the Christian life.

"And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation, through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."

2 Timothy 3v15-17

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."

Romans 28v19

We believe that man was created in the image of God and is accountable to Him as Creator.

"So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them."

Genesis 1v27

We believe that every individual who has ever lived (with the exception of Jesus Christ) has broken God's law and fallen short of His standard.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

Romans 3v23

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth and His perfect sinless humanity.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

John 1v1

"...the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou Son of Mary, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save His people from their sins."

Matthew 1v20-21

"...Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps: who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth."

1 Peter 2v21-22

We believe that Christ died for our sins upon the cross, and was raised again the third day.

"...Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that He was buried, and rose again according to the scriptures."

1 Corinthians 15v3-4

We believe that God provides forgiveness of sins, eternal life and a home in Heaven as a free gift to all who repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3v16

"...What shall I do to be saved? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..."

Acts 16v30-31

We believe that Christ will one day return to the air to take all believers to be with Himself forever and that subsequent to this He will return to the earth in glory to reign in righteousness.

"For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

1 Thessalonians 4v16-17

We believe in the ordinance of baptism by immersion upon an individual's personal confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Baptism symbolises that a person died to a life of sin and that they have been raised to live a new life of holiness in Christ.

"...they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, hear is water; what doth hinder me to be baptised? And Philip said, if thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptised him."

Acts 8v36-39

We believe in the ordinance of the Lord's Supper, observed on the first day of each week, through which believers remember the Lord Jesus Christ by partaking of break and wine, symbolising His body and His blood.

"...The Lord Jesus the same night in which He was betrayed took bread: and when He had given thanks He brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner He took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till He come."
